*LONG NOSE LOCKING PLIER-9.5 IN LENGTH
Application
Your hand's grasp gets longer and more powerful using pliers. With the joint serving as the fulcrum, they are straightforward levers: You can focus your holding force on the minuscule area where the jaws meet by squeezing firmly on the handles. There are several pairs of pliers in every toolbox, each with a set of jaws, joints, handles, and sizes that are appropriate for a different job. The three main varieties of pliers are locking, adjustable, and nonadjustable, despite the fact that they differ greatly from one another.
Using locking pliers allows you to pull, twist, or even let go without losing your grasp because they mechanically tighten onto the workpiece. The jaws of adjustable pliers remain parallel so they may grab bolts or pipes while being sized to fit a variety of apertures. (Avoid the common slip-joint pliers; you'll probably skin your knuckles when the tool slips; they have a figure-eight joint perpendicular to the handles.) Non-adjustable pliers rotate about a fixed joint with the help of a spring to occasionally open the jaws.
