Application 

Hydraulic cylinder with a rod protruding from one side at each end. A piston is connected to the rod inside the cylinder. The piston divides the cylinder's internal rod side from its internal cap side. To extend or retract the piston rod, fluid is injected into either side of the cylinder. With a force ranging from a few thousand pounds to many tonnes, hydraulic cylinders can stretch.
