Application

Hex flange bolts are used in vehicle frames, especially truck frames, and anywhere else a hex washer head bolt is needed. Due to the wide bearing surface's capacity to evenly distribute clamping force, they can be employed with huge and unevenly shaped holes. Compared to threaded bolts, rivets have a lot of advantages. They can secure joints with small clamp lengths and won't release when vibrated. They offer a smaller clamp load than threaded bolts, however, and are more difficult and time-consuming to instal and remove.
