Application
Low electrical resistance and strong mechanical construction make up the optimal crimp junction. The cable's wire is crushed within the crimp termination to produce the highest possible electrical conductivity in order to do this. The wire's strands will bend during the crimping process, resulting in a gas-tight connection. This will increase the surface area for electrical contact and decrease the likelihood of corrosion by preventing oxygen or moisture from reaching the metal of the wire and termination.
This gas-tight seal won't be produced if there is insufficient compression during the crimping procedure. This indicates that the joint's electrical resistance is larger than expected, which reduces its effectiveness. This might be risky, especially if the terminal is being used for power circuits. If enough power passes through a terminal with a high electrical resistance, too much heat will be produced. In severe cases, this may go over the connector's acceptable operating temperature, which might result in anything from plastic components melting to a potential cause of fire.
