A special kind of coolant and lubricant called cutting fluid is made for use in metalworking operations like stamping and machining. Cutting fluids come in a variety of forms, such as oils, oil-water emulsions, pastes, gels, aerosols (mists), air, and other gases. Cutting fluids can be produced using petroleum distillates, water, air, plant oils, animal fats, and other basic materials.
